Ever since I went through puberty and didn’t develop breasts I was insecure. I saw all my friends developing, models on tv, and even some of my family members. I always felt like I looked like a boy because I didn’t have anything. I remember I would get teased in school because other girls would be developed and I was still…flat.. I wasn’t just flat, I was FLAT AS A BOARD.
I don’t remember when I learned about Plastic surgery and just what implants were but I do know when I was 16 years old I decided that one day I would be getting a breast augmentation. The years went by and each year I thought about going in for a consultation but I knew that I wasn’t in a financial position to pay for the implants and if I went in for a consultation I would be teasing myself.
When I was 24 years old, I met my husband and I wasn’t shy about what my goals were for my body. He, of course, being the loving supportive man that he is, told me I don’t need them but if that’s what I wanted then I should get them done. I set a goal to try and get them done by the end of that year. I remember when I first started talking about wanting the implants with my family, they didn’t understand why but I didn’t need them to, I was doing this to make myself happy and no one else.
Many of my friends and coworkers had some sort of plastic surgery. I would ask questions about where they went, why they chose that office and doctor, the surgery, and what the recovery was like. Almost all of my friends and coworkers had gone to Dr. Brian Kreul. Everyone liked him because he wasn’t pushy, he allowed you to decide what you wanted and would steer you in the right direction, he was thorough, and his staff was very friendly. Once I heard the 5th or 6th friend name him, I knew I had to meet this doctor. Before I made my consultation I did research online, I looked up his webpage, looked at the images of before and after he had on his page and researched what kind of implants I wanted to get. I compared the saline to silicone many times.
In August of 2017 I called and made my consultation. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted by the ladies at the front desk, they were very friendly. Throughout the entire appointment from the front desk staff to Dr. Kreul, everyone was very friendly and informative. They all made sure that I understood the surgery, the risks, and listened to what look I wanted to achieve. I decided that the silicone, under the muscle would be best for me. Silicone is a more realistic feeling compared to the saline and because it is under the muscle you don’t see the ripple effects. Being able to touch and feel the implants and try them on was a very helpful step in the process. I decided on 450cc.
Once we were done a meeting with Dr. Kreul, the appointment was scheduled. This was it, I was finally getting the implants I wanted to boost my confidence!
