Holy moly you guys!!! It’s almost time to take Sawyer and Sienna to Disneyland for the first time and I couldn’t be more excited!! I, myself, haven’t been to Disneyland in over 15 years (I think) and I can’t wait to go back and experience the magic of Disney again.
Because I am “that ” mom, I made matching shirts for the kids to wear on the trip using my Cricut Maker and Heat Transfer Vinyl. I also made myself a phone case and a shirt to wear.
I have made my aunt multiple Disney shirts and even made her and my uncle some shirts for their Disney World trip back in July. As soon as our Disney trip was booked for October I started brainstorming and searching Pinterest for cute designs. Since we are going during the time that Disneyland and California Adventure are decorated for Halloween I figured it would be fun to do something with Villains and not just normal Mickey and Minnie, so I chose Ursula. Little Mermaid is my favorite movie and I’ve always joked about looking like Morgana (Ursula’s human form) when Jason and I got married.
Using my Cricut Design Space I searched Ursula and chose the image I wanted to use. I then found a font to use for the “Poor Unfortunate Soul” text that I want on my shirt to go with Ursula. Once I had the image and font size grouped together how I wanted it, I cut it out using my Cricut Mat and Cricut Maker Machine. After the vinyl was cut I weeded the extra pieces off to get my image and text. Using my Cricut Easy Press 9×9 I placed the Heat Transfer Vinyl onto my sweatshirt where I felt it should go and applied the design. After about 30 seconds I was done!
Next, I moved onto Sawyer and Sienna’s shirts. Sawyer had tie dyed some shirts for them a month or so ago and I saved them to apply the vinyl to.
For Sawyer and Sienna we chose Mickey’s head. Then I decided to layer a castle and 2021on top in a different color. Once again, I placed the image and the font Disney Mickey Silhouette and set it to cut out. The vinyl finished cutting and I weeded out all the extra leaving just the design to be heat pressed onto the shirt. The Cricut Easy Press 9×9 was warmed up to 350° and I pressed the vinyl for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds the vinyl was stuck to the shirt and I peeled back the plastic layer. Next I took the castle and the year, laid it on top of Mickey’s head and pressed it onto the shirt. Creating the layered look.
